A global company undergoing significant digital evolution is looking for an experienced Akamai CDN Architect to join its high-performance technology team. This role will focus on ensuring secure, scalable, and optimized content delivery across a complex, international web infrastructure.If you're passionate about web performance, edge computing, and application security — and have hands-on experience with Akamai’s suite of solutions — this is an opportunity to work in a technically mature environment with significant autonomy and impact.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign end-to-end architecture solutions utilizing Akamai CDN to enhance global content delivery performance and availability.Lead the implementation and configuration of Akamai solutions including Ion, Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, and other advanced modules.Analyze and optimize application delivery flows, identifying bottlenecks and applying best practices in caching, offloading, and acceleration.Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to define and deploy security controls such as WAF rules, bot mitigation, and DDoS protection.Partner with development and DevOps teams to create efficient caching policies, edge logic, and failover strategies.Proactively monitor CDN health and application performance using Akamai tools, and respond to incidents or anomalies.Serve as a technical advisor on CDN optimization, Akamai capabilities, and platform governance.Maintain clear documentation, solution diagrams, and operational playbooks for CDN environments.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in content delivery and web performance, including at least 2 years with Akamai solutions.Strong technical knowledge of HTTP/S, DNS, TLS/SSL, web caching principles, and modern application delivery architectures.Hands-on experience with Akamai tools such as Property Manager, EdgeWorkers, and EdgeKV.Familiarity with security services such as Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, or Application Protector.Experience integrating CDN solutions into CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.Proficiency in scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.) and using APIs for CDN automation.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to tune performance across complex systems.Akamai certifications are a plus.Preferred SkillsExperience implementing multi-CDN strategies and failover designs.Understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their interaction with CDN services.Exposure to observability and analytics tools like Datadog, Splunk, or Akamai mPulse.Background supporting high-traffic, globally distributed websites or applications.
