Job description We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a North American team supporting a hybrid environment with a strong focus on VMware and Azure Cloud. This role is primarily hands-on and involves managing, modernizing, and migrating a large-scale virtualized environment to the cloud, while also supporting core networking and security components. The ideal candidate brings deep VMware and Azure experience, strong production support capabilities, and the ability to work across infrastructure, cloud, and networking domains in a collaborative, hybrid-specialist team.Roles and Responsibilities Manage and optimize a large VMware environment across multiple physical hosts. Support migration initiatives from on-premises VMware infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. Design and implement cloud-based solutions in Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Build and maintain disaster recovery strategies across on-premises and cloud environments. Administer and support VMware platforms, including vCenter, vSAN, and related virtualization components. Support and manage Microsoft 365 (O365) services within the broader infrastructure ecosystem. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure issues across virtualized, cloud, and network layers. Support networking components including firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, and secure access solutions. Work with security platforms such as Zscaler and contribute to overall infrastructure security posture. Participate in modernization projects aimed at improving system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional IT and security teams to align infrastructure with business needs. Maintain accurate technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.Job Requirements 8–10+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or hybrid cloud environments. Strong expertise in VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vSAN) in production environments. Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including migrations, compute, networking, and storage services. Proven experience managing and supporting large virtualized environments. Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions across hybrid infrastructures. Working knowledge of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching. Experience with secure access and SASE platforms such as Zscaler is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (O365) administration. Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, cloud, and networking layers. Experience with performance monitoring tools and infrastructure observability. Ability to work in a hybrid specialist team and handle multiple responsibilities across domains. Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware, Azure, CCNP) are preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong.
