The Compliance Associate will support PPRO’s compliance programme in Brazil and help ensure operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations set by the Central Bank, and internal policies.The role also will support regulatory demands for Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico, assisting entities to comply with regulatory obligations, improve operational efficiency, and drive better stakeholder outcomes. The successful candidate will maintain effective compliance procedures, conduct internal risk assessments, support audits, interface with regulators, and provide guidance to departments within the organization. They will champion a robust culture of compliance and risk management throughout the company.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the Compliance team in fostering a culture of continual compliance improvement across the GroupWork with stakeholders to develop a Group-wide, homogenised control environmentStay informed about evolving regulatory changes, laws, and guidelines specific to the Central Bank of Brazil, PIX, and Payment Institution requirements, and assess their impact on the company’s operationsContribute to the implementation of a robust AML/CFT programmeImplement and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to local Central Bank regulations and industry best practicesRegularly assess the effectiveness and proportionality of PPRO’s compliance programme through audits, risk assessments, and internal controlsProvide reports for senior management on the state of the program and areas of improvementPrepare and submit reports as needed to regulatory bodies (BCB)Monitor communications from the Central Bank through channels such as SISBACEN, BCCORREIO, and SISCOM, and update information in UNICAD and track submission of reports via CRDAssist in maintaining open communication with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and auditors and respond to inquiries or requests for informationDevelop and deliver training sessions for employees to enhance their understanding of compliance obligations and ethical standardsContribute to fostering a culture of compliance within the organizationIdentify and address inefficient procedures with continuous goals to reduce customer friction, support commercial scaling and modernise the verification process without compromising complianceReview new and existing products/services to ensure compliance with regulatory standardsWhat would make you a great fitMinimum 3 years of experience in Compliance within the financial services or payments industry in BrazilFamiliarity with Central Bank of Brazil regulations and requirements and demonstrable interest in learning about other regulatorsUnderstanding of AML/CFT principles and practicesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team and independentlyProfessional certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS) are a plusProfessional knowledge of English; Spanish is a plusWhat we offerHybrid working - We offer a hybrid structure with a 3 days/week on-site expectation, so you can balance office and home working.
