The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Application Specialist to join our team in the Global Service Delivery (GSD) domain. As an IT Application Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our IT applications and its ecosystems. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that our technology solutions align with business objectives.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Ensure that the application has a proper strategic positioning in alignment with IT Enterprise Architecture and Global IT Domains.
Ensure that the application has a proper license agreement for the planned user community, in alignment with the application owner.
Ensure application is registered within the CMDB, in line with the overall strategy and leverages the asset registration ServiceNow capabilities.
Ensure service delivery, in particular case resolution (incidents, requests) management. It includes ensuring a proper support agreement and that a Service Management system is in place and aligned with Hitachi Energy standard.
Ensure technical documentation availability and accuracy for the application(s) in scope.
Ensure that the yearly application costs are in line with allocated budget.
Manage contracts with external vendors.
Support the CDC with the Vulnerability Management Service to ensure timely and accurate identification and mitigation of potential vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify/mitigate vulnerabilities & develop remediation strategies to minimize potential adverse impacts (e.g.: Patching).
Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging threats to improve the effectiveness of the Vulnerability Monitoring Service and ensure compliance with global cybersecurity standards and regulations.
Perform activities required by Internal Controls (of particular importance in case the application is ICoFR relevant).
Ensure fulfillment of local applicable security requirements.
Maintain close interactions with application owner, including the delivery of new Business Demands.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Your background
At least Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field. Certifications such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, and PMP are a plus.
Advanced English is mandatory. Spanish is a plus.
Experience as an IT Application Specialist/Manager or in a similar role with Custom, COTS, and SaaS applications.
Experience in one or more of the following coding languages: .NET, JavaScript, C++, Java.
Experience with development platforms (e.g., DevOps, Azure).
Experience with functional domains where the application belongs to (e.g., Finance, HR, Government & Institutional Relations, Real Estate, Internal Audits, Risk & Internal Control, Legal & Integrity).
Understanding software development lifecycles.
Strong ability to understand context for code, the codebase, and its relation to business objectives.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.
