AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION (AHF) is a global nonprofit organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to more than 2,000,000 people in 47 countries.
Founded in 1987, it is currently the largest provider of medical care in response to HIV and AIDS internationally.
AHF is currently seeking an Advocacy Director who will be responsible for the timely and structured management of policy change throughout the entire bureau, with a focus on increasing access to treatment, rapid testing, and condoms through advocacy and marketing strategies in the following countries:
* Argentina
* Chile
* Colombia
* Dominican Republic
* Guatemala
* Jamaica
* Mexico
* Panama
The Advocacy Director - LAC leads, directs, manages, and evaluates all advocacy plans, including, but not limited to, the budget submitted by the Country Program Managers of each of the Latin America and Caribbean bureau countries.

* Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of advocacy and policy change strategies at the regional level, promoting AHF's work nationally and regionally.
* Supervises and coordinates country teams in advocacy planning and budgeting, reviewing and approving plans before final submission.
* Leads high-level advocacy on HIV prevention, testing, OI/ART, and health policy issues.
* Conducts research, writes policy briefs, and briefings on relevant HIV policies.
* Develops and monitors advocacy strategies aligned with AHF's mission and values.
* Coordinates with global departments and conducts advocacy trips, training, and partnership development.
* Engages with policymakers, media, and regional networks to promote AHF's advocacy efforts.
* Establishes partnerships with organizations aligned with AHF's agenda.
* Maintains relationships with partners and external agencies, and provides information on funding opportunities.
* Collaborates with regional directors to address advocacy issues and coordinate efforts.
* Monitors advocacy-related expenditures across the region.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related fields.
* Master's degree or diploma in gender studies, public health policy, Latin American health policy, or related experience is preferred.
* 3 to 5 years of advocacy experience at regional and country levels.
* Experience leading teams.
Required Skills
* Fluent in English and Spanish.
* Strategic planning and scenario analysis skills for policy change.
* Proficiency with communication technologies and social mobilization tools.
* Experience lobbying policymakers and decision-makers.
* Strong strategic decision-making, leadership, creativity, and analytical skills.
* Must have a valid passport and US visa, with ability to travel 50% of the time.
