The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and managing strategic customer relationships across the Latin American hydrogen market. The role focuses on identifying business opportunities, driving sales of hydrogen solutions (such as electrolyzer and related systems), and building partnerships with key stakeholders including renewable developers, utilities, oil & gas companies, industrial off-takers, EPC contractors, and government entities.
The position requires strong market development capability, project sales experience, and a deep understanding of the emerging hydrogen ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Develop and execute sales strategies to expand hydrogen business in Latin America.
Identify and cultivate strategic customers including renewable developers, utilities, oil & gas companies, and industrial off-takers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.
Lead commercial discussions for hydrogen projects including electrolyzer systems and integrated solutions.
Coordinate with internal engineering, product, and project teams to deliver competitive proposals.
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to contract negotiation and closing.
Key Account Management
Develop long-term partnerships with strategic accounts in Latin America.
Understand customer needs and provide tailored hydrogen solutions.
Monitor project pipelines and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
Track hydrogen policy developments, funding mechanisms, and project pipelines in Latin America.
Analyze competitors and market trends.
Provide strategic insights to support regional market entry and growth.
Cross-functional Coordination
Collaborate with technical teams, product management, and supply chain to ensure successful project delivery.
Support marketing activities including conferences, hydrogen & industry events, and customer workshops.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or related field.
Master’s degree (MBA or Energy-related) is a plus.
Experience
8+ years of sales experience in energy, renewable energy, hydrogen, or industrial equipment.
Proven experience managing large strategic accounts or project-based sales.
Experience in hydrogen, electrolysis, renewable energy, or gas technologies is strongly preferred.
Skills
Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
Understanding of energy transition and hydrogen value chain.
Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural and international environment.
Language
Fluent in Portuguese and English required.
Spanish is a strong plus.
Travel
Willingness to travel frequently within Latin America and internationally (30–50%).
