The Data Scientist is a strong Business Intelligence and data analyst whose main responsibilities are to capture information and perform extensive analysis of market, competitors, products, pricing, applications and key customers, comprehended within emerging biotech and other relevant business ecosystems across Latin America They build meaningful data driven content, consisting of insights and recommendations that supports actions, drive prioritizations, and ultimately assure Merck's competitive edge. They assist commercial staff to strategically correlate data and trends, supporting sound decisions. The Data Scientist is part of a BI professional's team, engaged in supporting strategy, marketing, sales, and other business functions as needed. Customer specific analysis, with focus on R&D, innovation, pipeline and funding are key expected outputs for this role Main responsibilities: Design, build and deploy ETL flows involving several multisource datasets. Provide Front-end development and delivery of Business Intelligence and analytical solutions. Develop interactive and insightful visualizations, composing stories that are intuitive and easily understood. Identify patterns in data and correlate those patterns into market opportunities. Employ math and statistics into algorithms to generate real-time predictive systems. Validate and stress-test the algorithms that are employed. Use code expressions or write code from scratch to build analytics solutions to specific problems or proactively, as opportunities are identified. Transform data on customer behavior and web engagement into product recommendations. Capture feedback and share ideas across the team to shape and analytics outcomes. Qualifications: Relevant bachelor's degree or comparable work experience. Highly motivated professional with experience in BI operations and data modeling. Experience in data preparation, data analysis, data mining, advanced report writing, user acceptance testing, and data presentation. Strong aptitude for math and numerical insights. Business analytics experience required, pricing or marketing analytics a plus. Comfortable working in a team environment using Agile methodologies. Ability to prioritise multiple projects, executing responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner. Experience with ETL pipelines involving several multisource datasets. Datavis proficiency with Power BI, Tableau and Data Studio. Solid understanding of Python (or PySpark), Databricks, Spark. Proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases. Capacity of assessing and handling unstructured data. Exposure to a variety of operating systems and computing platforms Willingness to wrangle data and solve elusive problems. Excellent written and oral communication skills, employed in dialogues with stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes. Passionate about continuous learning.
