Sherlock Communications is an award-winning public relations and digital marketing agency that helps international brands connect with audiences across Latin America. We are looking for a junior Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with day-to-day accounting and control processes. This is a full-time position, contracted as an independent service provider. This role would suit someone studying accounting or finance, or a recent graduate looking for their first role in an international company.

English is essential, as the role involves working with colleagues, systems, and documentation in English.

Key responsibilities Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across accounts. Support preparation and review of P& L reports and financial summaries. Bookkeeping activities, including expense categorisation and transaction posting. Support payment processes, including payment approval submissions and control checks. Assist with maintaining and improving financial controls and approval workflows. Help implement and maintain a purchase order (PO) system process. Support general finance administration and reporting as required.
Requirements Strong written and spoken English. Studying accounting, finance, or a related field, or recently graduated.
Interest in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial controls.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial data.
Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software is a plus
