Sales and Marketing Position Overview:
Job Summary
The Merchandise Manager will oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring a seamless customer experience while driving sales and controlling expenses. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the receiving, unpacking, and organizing of new stock to ensure timely placement on the sales floor.
* Design and maintain visually appealing displays for specific store sections, adhering to corporate guidelines for resets and seasonal updates.
* Assume full responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and addressing urgent issues when acting as Manager on Duty.
* Oversee the daily activities of all store associates, ensuring they meet performance expectations and provide exceptional customer service.
* Support associate onboarding and ongoing training, helping them develop product knowledge and operational procedures.
* Drive sales growth by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer engagement.
* Execute market plans by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines, ensuring promotional materials are displayed properly and updated regularly.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
* Minimum 2 years of management experience in retail or a related field.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to multitask, think creatively, and maintain composure under pressure.
* Frequently operate cash registers, move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs, and ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
* Able to remain stationary for 80% of the time.
