As a key player in the intellectual property landscape, we are seeking a skilled Patent Project Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing patent filing requests from inception to completion.
This is a full-time, remote position that requires working hours to be in Pacific Standard Time (United States time zone). The ideal candidate must be able to commit to working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm PST.
The role involves coordinating various aspects of patent filings, including budgeting, scheduling, docketing, document submission, and quality assurance. Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required as you will be working with English-speaking teammates and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of all documents required in connection with EP, PCT and foreign applications.
* Proactive initiation of responses to official communications and notifications.
* Coordination of filings of EP/international and foreign patent applications and related correspondence from filing to issuance of grant.
* Monitoring of all assigned cases and proactive ensuring that all related deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Required Experience:
* 1-2 years of experience as a patent paralegal in either a law firm or corporate setting.
* Experience working with EP, PCT and foreign applications.
* Strong organizational, leadership and management abilities.
* Significant experience managing complex projects.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Successful track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong experience implementing translation tools into existing workflows.
* Comfort working with CAT tools (memoQ fluency a plus) and various Machine Translation engines.
* Ability to define processes and standards for translation and quality assurance.
* Skilled at training internal and external users in MTPE & TM workflows.
* Skilled at vendor recruitment and negotiations.
