The role of an Urban and Regional Development Expert involves leading a consortium in various international projects, leveraging expertise in regional and urban development, urban buildings and social infrastructure, economic development, and disaster risk management.
Key qualifications include at least 10 years' experience in the field, familiarity with EU and EIB financed projects, and relevant academic credentials.
Professionals should possess excellent English language skills (CEFR C1) and have worked on initiatives focused on urban planning, sustainable urban mobility plans, smart cities, and eco-districts. They should also have experience in handling natural and man-made disasters throughout the entire DRM-cycle.
A significant part of this role is ensuring that social and affordable housing projects are implemented efficiently, taking into account regulatory and policy issues in countries lacking robust social and affordable housing frameworks.
