OverviewThe National Associate & Regional Director (NARD) will support the daily operations of the Howard University and PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship (the Center). The NARD will play a leadership role in advancing the Center's mission by supporting program strategy, partnership development, and national coordination of entrepreneurship initiatives. The NARD will collaborate with campus partners, funders, faculty, and student leaders to promote business innovation, entrepreneurship education, and venture creation. This position reports to the National Executive Director (NED) and serves as a critical broker between program funders, colleagues, students, the University, and the broader community.Location: nationwide within the Center network; this role includes working closely with Regional Directors, faculty, and university administration to drive initiative success.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of national entrepreneurship programs and capacity-building initiatives with high impact on program participants.Coordinate with communities around the country to support local entrepreneurship center development, student programming, and faculty training.Provide guidance to entrepreneurship centers and incubators on program design, student engagement, and partnership cultivation.Ensure alignment of national programs with institutional needs, funder expectations, and impact metrics.Assist in the development, management, and execution of the Center’s strategic plan in collaboration with the School of Business and university administration.Prepare reports, financial statements, and records on program activities, progress, status, or related special reports.Assist in the creation and oversight of an Annual National Conference.
Partnerships & Stakeholder EngagementSupport the NED in cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with corporate, nonprofit, government, and philanthropic organizations.Serve as a liaison between the national center and entrepreneurship leaders at participating institutions and partnering organizations.Work collaboratively with faculty and staff at regional centers.Represent the center at national conferences, summits, and convenings.
Operational LeadershipOversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables in collaboration with national and campus-based teams.Assist in the management and supervision of National Center staff of professionals and support staff.Serve as back-up in the absence of NED or other supervisory personnel.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory AccountabilityThe NARD will assist the NED to formally plan, assign, direct, and coordinate the work of the Center across the country, and assist in the management and supervision of National Center staff of professionals and support staff.
Core CompetenciesRelevant leadership experience in a complex, dynamic environment.Experience with academic institutions and/or entrepreneurship preferred.Ability to manage a network of strategic partners and experience working with C-suite executives to build relationships.Skilled in planning work, analysis, initiative, and resourcefulness.Strong project management skills and experience leading multi-stakeholder initiatives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; grant writing experience preferred.Passion for entrepreneurship and community-driven innovation.
Minimum RequirementsMaster’s degree preferred and significant relevant experience at a managerial level are required.7+ years of experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, or economic development.
CompensationCompliance Salary Range Disclosure: $140,000-$150,000
