About the Role
We're looking for a Modern Web Developer to design, build, and ship high-quality websites across our agency group — primarily in WordPress and HubSpot, but increasingly using AI-native build tools like Lovable, Claude Code, and Cursor.
This is not a classic WordPress role buried in PHP. We need someone who is technically broad and modern: comfortable in a CMS, fluent in modern JavaScript and APIs, and excited to use AI coding tools to ship faster than a traditional dev shop. You'll build marketing sites, landing pages, and lightweight web apps — and just as often, wire those sites into the rest of our stack via APIs, webhooks, and automations.
If you love shipping polished, conversion-ready sites and you're allergic to bloated,
brittle WordPress builds, you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development
* Design and build production-grade marketing websites in WordPress (custom themes/blocks, ACF, headless setups where appropriate) and HubSpot CMS (HubL templating, modules, themes).
* Use Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, and similar AI-native tools to accelerate
* prototyping and full builds — for client work and internal tools alike.
* Build clean, performant, accessible front-end experiences (semantic HTML, modern CSS, vanilla JS or framework-as-needed).
* Maintain and extend existing client sites: new pages, modules, redesigns, performance tuning, and migrations.
API Integrations & Automation Hooks
* Integrate websites with HubSpot, Salesforce, marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, and custom APIs.
* Wire up form submissions, gated content, and lead routing to webhooks, n8n flows, and serverless functions.
* Build lightweight internal tools, microsites, and utilities when a full CMS is overkill (Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Workers, etc.).
Quality, Performance & SEO
* Own Core Web Vitals, page speed, schema markup, and on-page technical SEO basics for every site you ship.
* Implement analytics and tracking correctly (GA4, GTM, HubSpot tracking, server-side events where needed).
* Test thoroughly across devices and browsers;
care about the details.
Collaboration
* Work directly with designers, strategists, and marketers to translate Figma into pixel-faithful, on-brand builds.
* Participate in code reviews, version control workflows (Git/GitHub), and documentation.
* Help define internal standards for how we build sites across the agency group going forward.
Required Skills
Technical
* 3+ years building production websites in WordPress (custom themes, blocks, ACF, plugin selection and customization).
* Strong HubSpot CMS experience (HubL, modules, themes, forms, smart content).
* Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript — comfortable with modern tooling, build steps, and at least one JS framework when needed (React/Next.Js a plus).
* Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, Replit, or equivalent) — and a clear point of view on when to use them vs. when to write code yourself.
* Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and serverless functions.
* Comfortable in Git/GitHub with branching, PRs, and basic CI/CD.
Modern Web Skills
* Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, image optimization, caching strategies).
* Technical SEO fundamentals (schema, sitemaps, redirects, canonical handling).
* Accessibility basics (WCAG, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation).
* Analytics and tag management (GA4, GTM, server-side tracking).
Bonus Experience
(Not required, but highly valuable)
* Webflow development experience.
* Headless WordPress or HubSpot setups (Next.Js + WP/HubSpot APIs).
* Experience with Supabase, Postgres, or Firebase for lightweight app backends.
* Familiarity with n8n, Make.Com, or Zapier for stitching sites into broader workflows.
* E-commerce experience (WooCommerce, Shopify).
* Design sensibility — you can read a Figma file and notice when something is off without being told.
Soft Skills
* Bias toward shipping. You'd rather get a working v1 live than debate architecture for two weeks.
* Detail-oriented — you care about pixel alignment, spacing, and typography as much as the underlying code.
* Strong communicator with non-technical teammates;
you can explain trade-offs to a strategist or account lead without jargon.
* Curious about new tools and models — you experiment on your own time and bring ideas back to the team.
* Comfortable juggling multiple sites and clients in a fast-moving agency environment.
What Success Looks Like
* In the first 60–90 days, you will:
* Ship at least 2–3 client websites or major redesigns end-to-end.
* Establish standards for how we use AI coding tools across web builds (when to reach for Lovable, when to drop into Claude Code, when to write it ourselves).
* Integrate at least one site deeply with our automation stack (HubSpot, n8n, custom APIs) in a way that becomes a reusable pattern.
* Become the internal go-to person for technical web questions across the agency group.
