Join us as we empower tomorrow’s world at work.About The OpportunityWeWork is seeking a proactive self-starter who enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support the Accounting Team with a focus on Fixed Assets/Construction and Operating Expense Accounting. The Senior Lead Accountant will be a key player in the month-end financial close as well as have an opportunity to grow within a dynamic finance organization.The Senior Lead Accountant will report to the Opex and Fixed Assets Accounting Senior Manager. The Accounting team drives the month end close process, is responsible for the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and plays an essential role in the overall finance organization.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the monthly financial close by preparing account schedules, submitting journal entries and working cross functionally with other internal stakeholders to obtain relevant informationPerform analytics on various income statement & balance sheet accounts to review monthly operating expenses and construction costsPrepare balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of applicable ledger accountsSupport the year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews including internal audit and SOX requestsAssist the Senior Manager in developing the processes and controls needed to operate effectively while managing riskSupport the Senior Manager with various ad-hoc analyses and management reporting, specifically performing and developing analytics on operating expenses on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisCollaborate and formulate working relationships with cross-functional teams including Finance, Building Operations, Construction Operations and Legal within WeWorkJob Requirements3-5 years of relevant accounting experience - public accounting experience preferredBachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or FinanceCPA (or CPA track) preferredProficient with MS Office with advanced excel skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets (VLOOKUP, Sum-Ifs, Pivot tables, etc.)Strong working knowledge of accounting theory and application of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirementsExcellent communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levelsProblem solver with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting deadlinesFamiliarity with analytical process automation specifically Alteryx a plusWorking knowledge of Workday a plusLife at WeWorkBeing a WeWorker is more than just a job.
