Derflan is seeking a Solutions Architect to support a large global technology client focused on cloud infrastructure and performance optimization.
Location: São Paulo, Brazil (1 role) and LATAM region (1 role)
Employment Type: CLT (full-time with benefits)
Compensation: BRL 450,000 – 550,000 annual base salary
Languages: Portuguese required, Spanish preferred for LATAM role
What You’ll Do:
Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud architectures
Guide customers through infrastructure decisions, including compute selection and workload optimization
Conduct benchmarking, testing, and performance tuning across cloud environments
Solve complex architecture challenges for enterprise workloads
Lead customer-facing engagements with clear deliverables and success criteria
Partner with engineering and technical teams to deliver optimized solutions
Support deployment and optimization of enterprise workloads in cloud environments
Drive technical discussions with stakeholders across business and engineering teams
Technical Advocacy & Enablement:
Act as a subject matter expert on performance-focused cloud workloads
Deliver technical workshops, webinars, and enablement sessions
Contribute to architecture documentation, solution patterns, and best practices
Support development of technical content including case studies and customer success stories

Solutions Architect – Data Services
This role is responsible for defining end‑to‑end architectures across modern data platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives, governance standards, and enterprise architecture principles. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Azure Databricks, data engineering, and cloud‑native architectures, along with hands‑on experience in data mesh, data products, and Unity Catalog‑based governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and own solution‑level architectures across data platforms, with a focus on Azure Databricks (workspaces, compute, orchestration).
Design and implement data mesh architectures and domain‑oriented data products.
Establish governance frameworks using Unity Catalog, including security, lineage, and multi‑workspace strategies.
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and production‑ready data solutions.
Identify cross‑system dependencies, integration points, and architectural risks.
Define best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and serving within Databricks.
Establish standards for data product ownership, contracts, and lifecycle management.
Implement enterprise‑grade security and access control using Unity Catalog, Entra ID, and cloud‑native tools.

Hands‑On Execution & Proof‑of‑Concepts:

Support engineering teams by reviewing designs, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring architectural alignment.

Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or architecture roles.
Proven experience designing and delivering data platforms on Azure Databricks.
Strong understanding of data mesh concepts and domain‑oriented data products.
Hands‑on experience with Unity Catalog (governance, security, lineage).
Solid programming experience in Python and/or C#, including API and integration design.
Experience designing end‑to‑end solutions across data platforms, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of cloud‑native architectures, DevOps practices, and operational considerations.
Experience creating architectural artifacts and design documentation.

Enterprise Cloud Architect – Mainframe Modernization
This role focuses on leading customers with mainframe and legacy modernization initiatives, exploring cloud modernisation approaches and driving technical content composition and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Help customers and systems integrators design scalable, high‑availability application solutions built on mainframe-associated portfolios.
Act as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams.
Create and conduct proof‑of‑concept technology analysis and pilots.
Conduct customer presentations and internal presentations/trainings to peer groups.
Enable and align consulting partners with mainframe modernization methodology.
Provide architectural guidance and recommendations to promote successful engagements worldwide.
Compose and deliver technical content such as blogs, whitepapers, technical presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced Technical Degree in Computer Science or related field.
At least 4 to 10 years of experience leading customers with mainframe and legacy modernization initiatives.
Knowledge of major cloud provider infrastructure and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker / Kubernetes.
Experience analyzing on‑premises mainframe environment applications and processes to formulate modernisation plans.
Relevant business and IT architecture certifications such as AWS Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft AZURE Solution Architect, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), etc.
Fluent in written and verbal English, Portuguese; Spanish helpful.
Prior Experience in leading Customer migrations from Mainframe to a specific platform.
Experience in infrastructure modernization, migration, software modernization, or turning legacy apps into cloud-native services.
