The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for an Assistant Director of Human Resources to join the team!

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point, adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and active lifestyle.

The resort spans 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff, with over 400 rooms, 115,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and beverage outlets including 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in-room dining.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Human Resources, helping manage 750-850 team members.

The ideal candidate will have previous Assistant Director/Director of Human Resources experience in a luxury property, be fluent in Spanish, and have a clear understanding of California employment laws including FMLA, LOA, Workers' Compensation, along with knowledge of recruitment/employment visas, benefits management, and orientation facilitation.

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000, based on experience and location.

Key responsibilities include assisting in overseeing HR functions such as recruiting, training, benefits, compliance, team relations, labor relations, performance evaluations, workers' compensation, safety, employment processes, and providing leadership support. You will manage daily HR department activities, participate in and facilitate meetings, monitor team performance, manage team member relations programs, oversee data management systems, recruit and train staff, assist in report preparation, and act in the absence of the Director. You may also lead quality initiatives as needed.
