**Duties**:
As a Regional Managing Director for Brazil, you will:

- Undertake business development and early execution support and direction for investors to DFC programs with a focus on the Western Hemisphere market.
- Focus 70% of time on nature-based solutions globally and 30% of time on projects in the Western Hemisphere market across all sectors.
- Work with other U.S. government agencies, including Department of State, to support an all-of-government approach to catalyzing U.S. investment in the Western Hemisphere area.
- Establish and maintain business relationships with U.S. and foreign corporations, U.S. and foreign commercial banks, relevant business associations, and development finance institutions.
- Provide expertise on climate financial investments and overall strategy.
- Provide front end analysis and negotiations related to long term financing as well as suitability for political risk insurance.
- Identify key potential clients or client groups, associations, industry sectors, regions, and/or target markets on which departmental marketing efforts should focus.
- Counsel private U.S. and foreign firms on the development of proposed projects.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- This position is in the excepted service.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation.
- Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt.
- Within 30 days of your start date, you will be required to file an Executive Branch Personnel Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE-278)
- This position will require domestic and foreign travel
- This position may be eligible for special pay allowances (e.g., post allowance (COLA), post hardship differential, housing, dependent education, etc.)
- The selectee is required to attend pre-deployment training and complete such training to the satisfaction of the DFC
- The selectee and any accompanying dependents will need to obtain a Department of State medical clearance before being cleared to report to the overseas duty station

**Qualifications**:

- In order to qualify for this position, the ideal applicant will have experience leading the negotiation of financing agreements; managing multiple international project finance transactions; and performing the full range of work related to project financing to include underwriting, due diligence, approval process, negotiation of loan documentation, and disbursement.
- In addition, the ideal applicant should possess the skill in speaking Portuguese and Spanish fluently in order to effectively communicate and work with high level officials of foreign businesses and governments.

**Education**:
There is no substitution of education at this level.

**Additional information**:
Overseas Assignments: Overseas assignment to this location requires a three (3) year commitment. The assignment may be extended based on the needs of the DFC.
- This position is contingent upon approval of an NSDD-38 request.
- Potential selectees will remain in a different location, whether domestic or international, before being authorized to travel to the overseas post. This is to complete the required training and security and/or medical clearances.
- Host nation determines the selectee's diplomatic status and it is their sole discretion under applicable international law. Diplomatic status must be granted in order to proceed to the overseas post.
- Current permanent status DFC employees selected for an AD appointment can be reinstated back to a permanent position (competitive service) in the United States.

**Work Schedule**: This position allows for a flexible work schedule.
- You may be removed from this appointment without regard to title 5, United States Code. A person appointed under this authority at any level serves at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer and may be terminated at any time. This appointment shall be terminated when it is decided that the services of the AD employee are no longer required. If removal is for cause, either because of misconduct or poor performance, all fallback rights, if applicable, are forfeited.**Miscellaneous**:
