Key responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
* Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with Brazilian standards and international standards if applicable.
* Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
Tax Compliance:
* Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and adjust accounting practices accordingly.
* Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors as necessary.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
* Develop and manage the company's budgeting process, working closely with Financial BP to align budgets with strategic objectives.
* Monitor budget variances and provide regular updates to department heads.
* Assist in financial forecasting and planning.
Internal Controls:
* Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
* Conduct regular reviews of accounting processes to identify and mitigate risks.
Audit Coordination:
* Prepare the company for internal and external audits by organizing financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership:
* Manage and mentor a team of accountants and finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
* Conduct performance evaluations and set clear expectations for team members.
System Implementation:
* Evaluate and recommend accounting system to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Oversee the implementation and maintenance of system.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including HQ Supervisor, local senior management, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
* Represent the accounting department in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
Requirements
* Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent Brazilian certification (CRC – Conselho Regional de Contabilidade).
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting preferably in a Multi-national company and Big Four, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
* Expert knowledge of Brazilian standards and tax laws.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing a team and collaborating with other departments.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.
* Fluent in Portuguese and English.
* Proven ability to handle complex accounting issues and provide strategic financial advice.
* Experience in managing internal controls and conducting financial audits.
* ERP system implementation experience is a plus.
