This role will be pivotal in spearheading regional regulatory initiatives across Latin America. Candidates should have knowledge of Internet policy issues and project management skills. We are looking for candidates with previous experience working at the crossroads of tech and policy with government, international organizations, civil society, tech companies, think tanks, technical community, consulting firms, or related organizations.This is s Short Term Employment (STE) of 8 months.Public Policy Manager, Regulatory (STE) Responsibilities:Execute cross-functional regional/country-wide strategic initiatives, focused on legislative and product policy prioritiesMonitor the political and regulatory environment in the region, and identify opportunities to advance policies and regulations that benefit the company and our local communities where we resideOperate internally to land cross-functional work, and ensure that Meta cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders receive timely updates on developments, ensuring key reporting and processes are completedWork internally to obtain general narratives, and adapt them to regional teams’ needs, focused on local policy engagementsPropose region or subregion wide strategies for engagement with trade and industry associations, non-profits, international organizations, and civil society groups to advance priorities in the regionMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in law, political science, international affairs, or similar4+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairsExperience with the political and legislative process, policymakers, and stakeholders in regionFamiliarity with regional regulatory frameworks and policy trends in Latin AmericaExperience in strategy and/or project/program managementFluent EnglishExperience working on platform policy issues (such as content moderation, intermediary liability, competition, youth)Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in law, political science, international affairs, data science or similarExperience in government or Congress regulatory processesExperience working in the technology industryExperience in partnerships with goverments and international organizationsProficiency in Spanish and/or PortugueseAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
