Job Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Office Engineer to join our team in Brazil (Navegantes) for an exciting and challenging project. The selected candidate will play a key role in the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of their work package.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in a construction company, preferably on larger marine projects. They should be fluent in English and Portuguese, with any additional language skills being an asset.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, execute, monitor, and control your work package.
* Ensure that the site is supplied with all necessary documentation, methods, and materials.
* Prepare construction method statements, drawings, job safety analysis, risk assessments, lifting plans, and inspection and test plans.
* Follow up on permanent and temporary works design and coordination with the site.
* Lead planning activities for your scope of work, interfacing with the Planner and Technical Manager.
* Prepare material take-off, requests for quotation, and purchase requests for subcontracts and materials required for construction activities.
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers and assist in preparing work requisition/contract for subcontracted works and purchase orders for material supplies.
* Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets of offers received from subcontractors and suppliers, and follow up on subcontracted works and material supplies, including payment applications.
* Keep the technical library updated, including best practices and lessons learned.
* Prepare pre-qualifications and material approval requests, submittals, and follow-up of the approval process.
Requirements
* Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
* At least 5 years of experience in a construction company, preferably on larger marine projects.
* Fluent in English and Portuguese, with any additional language skills being an asset.
* Willingness to work on site in Navegantes, Brazil.
* Ability to anticipate standard solutions and take initiative and make suggestions.
* Great ability to work effectively and efficiently in a constantly changing business environment.
* Able to plan, organize, and prioritize own work, seeking confirmation of priorities when confronted with unusual situations.
* Understanding of role in the team and broader departmental organization.
* Responsibility and ownership, reporting spontaneously to manager.
