Security Research Intern
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist our cybersecurity research team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the growth of our team.
About the Role
This internship is designed for students who are passionate about cybersecurity and want to gain hands-on experience in the field. You will be working closely with our team to support research projects, analyze malware, and develop new detection technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Support research projects, including developing processes, defining priorities, and following deadlines
* Analyze malicious functionality in Windows x86/x64, MSIL, mobile threats, and web-related malware
* Keep current with the latest malware threats affecting our customers
* Communicate with clients about adding detections
* Participate in the development of unit's recommended practices and standards
* Suggest ideas for implementation in company products
* Content creation, analyzing and describing malicious programs, threat intel reports, and documentation
* Presentation skills to communicate IT security to wide audiences
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Strong desire to learn and share research with teammates
* Interest in malware analysis and security research
* Knowledge of x86/x64 Intel Assembly (at least 1 year)
* Basis knowledge of WinAPI
* Using IDA Disassembler, HIEW, OllyDbg, or Windbg to analyze PE files (at least 1 year)
* Executable file analysis skills in a hexadecimal editor
* Deep knowledge in several fields: mobile device security, statistical analysis, methods of protection against threats, security best practices, polymorphic malware, rootkits/bootkits
* Knowledge and skills needed to analyze and understand non-standard threats
* Good knowledge of file formats and ability to analyze and understand malicious code
* Fluency in English is Mandatory

1. Some hobby experience in security research
2. Good communication skills to work with developers, analysts, researchers, marketing, PR, sales

4. Experience in developing tools and documentation for other researchers
