You will be responsible for architecting, building, and shipping high-quality Android software applications. As a senior engineer, you’ll provide technical guidance, mentorship, and champion best practices for software development.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high-quality Android software applicationsBuild and ship durable, secure, scalable, and always-up software codeArchitect robust networking and data modeling layersProvide recommendations on the best ways to solve a problem for a particular platformChampion programming best practices and modular design patternsOwn the delivery of major features and componentsMentor other developersCollaborate and communicate with teams and clients to deliver software in an agile environmentImprove existing code to make it more maintainable, testable, and elegantWrite unit tests to ensure code coverageParticipate in Scrum and/or Kanban processes and ceremoniesQualifications4+ years of professional programming experienceStrong understanding of the Android development Lifecycle and ecosystemFamiliarity with languages, frameworks, and libraries such as Java, Kotlin, Room, Coroutines/Flow, RxJava, Dagger 2, Gradle, Fragments, OkHttp3, Retrofit or VolleyComfortable using IDEs, version control such as Git, and/or command line toolsExperience with CI/CD and setting up deployment pipelinesFamiliarity with automated testing frameworks such as Espresso, JUnit, Mockito/Mockk, and AppiumExperience with Google APIs and SDKsExperience with HiltDeveloped for multiple Android platformsAppreciation for inclusive and accessible UI implementationsExperience using Jetpack ComposeExperience with emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Voice, and/or AR/VRWhy TELUS Digital?At TELUS Digital, you’ll work with world-class brands like FOX, HBO, PepsiCo, and Domino's, building transformative digital products that impact millions.
