Job Title: Business Development Specialist
Public relations and communications firms partner with brands to promote their products or services. As a business development specialist, you will play a key role in building relationships with clients and securing media coverage for them.
Your Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute strategic PR plans tailored to each client's goals and objectives
* Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring timely and proactive communication on campaign progress
* Build, grow, and create new client relationships through targeted outreach and relationship-building activities
* Conduct media research and build targeted media lists to secure media opportunities for clients
* Secure, filter, and respond to media opportunities that align with client goals and increase brand visibility and credibility
* Schedule and coordinate media interviews, ensuring all logistics are handled and follow up with media contacts to confirm placements and coverage timelines
* Monitor coverage through Google Alerts and track mentions or product features to measure campaign success
* Facilitate writing projects with team members in alignment with client goals and deliverables
* Monitor news trends and identify timely angles for client exposure to drive results and meet client expectations
* Provide daily (Monday–Friday) client updates and maintain consistent communication to ensure client satisfaction
* Prepare and send biweekly and monthly reports and lookbooks to stakeholders
* Maintain updated media trackers to record media coverage and interview status, enabling data-driven decision-making

Requirements:
* Proven experience or education in public relations, communications, or a related field
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling narratives and messaging
* Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
* Proficient in Google Suite, Gmail, and media monitoring tools to streamline workflow and enhance productivity
* Creative and strategic thinker with proactive mindset, able to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
* Personable and professional in client and media interactions, with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
