This role blends full-stack development with a deep understanding of online communities, culture, and data-driven iteration. You will own the full lifecycle of features—from concept to deployment—while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to drive meaningful user engagement during peak activity periods.Key Responsibilities- Lead the conceptualisation, design, and execution of in-app community experiences tailored to high-interest UK cultural moments.- Drive community engagement during peak user periods by launching client-facing, technically robust features built on the Devvit Developer Platform.- Translate cultural trends and community needs into scalable, high-performance web applications within a large social platform ecosystem.- Own the full development lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping through deployment and iteration.- Develop a deep understanding of the culture and technical needs of focus communities to inform content, feature sets, and engagement strategies.- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to convert strategic growth goals and community feedback into clear technical requirements and deliverables.- Conduct data analysis and research on application performance and usage metrics to guide feature prioritisation and optimisation.Technical Requirements- 2+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack web development using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.- Demonstrable expertise with modern client-side frameworks, particularly React.- Experience building and deploying server-side applications using Node.Js, preferably with frameworks such as Express or Koa.- Strong understanding of API integration, data modelling, and client/server architecture patterns.- Experience managing application state and data using tools such as Redis for caching or storage.- Familiarity with the Devvit Developer Platform and its SDKs (@devvit/client, @devvit/server) is highly desirable.General Requirements- Fluent in English, with a deep understanding of UK culture and language nuances.- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple development and community launch cycles simultaneously.- Experience designing and executing community activations and interactive platform experiences.- Strong familiarity with large-scale online discussion platforms and user expectations.- Ability to quickly understand and adapt to diverse topics and content verticals.- Availability to dedicate 20–40 hours per week to community growth initiatives.What We Offer- The opportunity to work on high-impact community experiences tied to major cultural moments.- Autonomy to own features end-to-end in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.- Flexible contract hours within a globally distributed team.If you are passionate about building community-driven products and enjoy combining cultural insight with technical excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
