This includes overseeing daily priorities, coordinating schedules and key meetings, arranging high-level travel, and ensuring seamless communication across departments. SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY Has responsibility or authority that is limited to the direction of an administrative assistant and students. NATURE AND SCOPE Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, and students, both within the department and University-wide. Alumni, external stakeholders, accreditation agencies, vendors, and the general public. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Provides high-level administrative support and assistance to the Dean, including serving as the primary point of contact with internal and external constituencies on matters relating to the Office of the Dean. Provides support to include composing correspondence independently on a wide variety of matters and researching, prioritizing, and following up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the Dean, including those of a sensitive and confidential nature. Set and manage regular leadership meeting agendas to ensure alignment with the Dean’s priorities and to facilitate strategic, proactive, and collaborative communication across the entire college community—both internal and external. Manage agenda and logistics for monthly chairs meetings and other department-wide and leadership meetings. Support the Dean’s leadership of the accreditation process by creating systems and structures to maintain and document day-to-day work as well as ongoing quality improvement efforts. Prepare agendas and materials for the Dean, ensuring the Dean is prepared for meetings and informed on key issues. CORE COMPETENCIES Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience, which includes managing administrative and strategic initiatives in higher education. Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. Proven experience with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, to manage a large variety of details and coordinate complex projects during numerous interruptions, and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Preferred education and experience working with executives and a board of trustees/directors. Proven successful administrative experience in a university setting.
