The Role
As a Mainframe z/OS Network Host Support at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain mainframe network components: TCP/IP, NET/VTAM, CLS, NDM.
Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting for network systems.
Participate in on‑call support rotation for critical incidents.
Configure and monitor security settings for mainframe network systems.
Manage change and incident processes using ServiceNow.
Ensure compliance with enterprise‑level environmental standards.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders in English (verbal and written).
Required Skills and Experience
Specialization in installing and maintaining Mainframe Network for z/OS.
Responsible for VTAM, TCP/IP, SNA protocols, file transfer protocols, incident and change planning.
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong knowledge of z/OS Network products, including:
COMM SERVER BASE SUPPORT (TCP/IP and VTAM)
VTAM APPN
OMPROUTE – OSPF and Static Routing
TCP/IP stack on LPAR
Encrypted FTP – SSL/TLS
AT/TLS including PAGENT
IPSec/VPN including PAGENT and IKED
TCP/IP – Enterprise Extender
TCP/IP – Dynamic VIPA and Sysplex Distributor
TCP/IP – TN3270 servers
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with Connect:Direct for Mainframe.
Knowledge of RACF, CL SuperSession, IBM NetView, Access/Multisess Services, IBM Session Manager.
Optional skills in CICS and MQ.
