About the Role
We are seeking a highly seasoned Senior Backend Engineer with +5 years of experience building and shipping production backends with PostgreSQL. You are an advanced backend engineer with strong database skills, experience integrating external APIs, a strong product focus, and you are comfortable thinking on your feet in a fast‑paced and dynamic startup environment. Experience integrating with medical devices and systems is highly desired.

Required
Expert level proficiency with PostgreSQL Database (modeling, security / authentication / authorization / RLS, performance, transactions, triggers, scaling, data history, etc)

Advanced experience integrating with external APIs.
Experience programmatically interacting with LLMs or other advanced AI models.
Solid CS fundamentals.
Advanced testing experience and maintaining high reliability.
Strongly Preferred
Experienced with Supabase (especially Row Level Security and Realtime features)
DevOps expertise, implementation experience, and uptime reliability.
Capability to help craft our long term AI strategy, along with training and customizing open source AI models based on medical data.
Solid proficiency with React (we’re a NextJS shop; since we’re a small team you may be asked to contribute to the front‑end).
