In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performing software applications. You’ll collaborate with fellow architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and drive innovation across our digital platforms. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a passion for modern software development practices.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & DesignChampion enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patternsDesign and evolve cloud-native, scalable, and resilient applicationsCollaborate with Solution Architects to define cross-team architectural strategiesEvaluate and recommend system solutions, balancing custom development and third-party toolSolution Design & EngineeringLead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications using C#, .NET 8, Azure capabilities, and RESTful APIsArchitect and implement solutions using Angular and SPA patternsIntegrate with Azure services such as Service Bus, API Management, and App ServicesEnsure application designs are secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standardsLeadership & CollaborationProvide technical leadership and mentorship to development teamsParticipate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectivesCollaborate with product owners, UX designers, and stakeholders to refine user experiencesPromote a culture of continuous improvement and innovationLeverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding, improve code quality, and enhance developer productivity across teamsPromote best practices for integrating AI tools into the software development lifecycle, including code generation, documentation, and testingEvaluate and recommend emerging AI-driven engineering tools to improve team efficiency and innovationMentor developers on effective use of AI tools to support clean architecture, maintainability, and consistency in codebasesMaintenance & SupportMonitor and reduce technical debt, ensuring long-term maintainabilitySupport and enhance deployed solutions across environmentsEnsure software meets quality, security, and extensibility standardsCreate and maintain technical documentation and support toolsRequirements10+ years of experience in web application development using C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and Visual Studio2+ years in an Application Architect roleProven experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, including services like Azure Functions, App Service, API Management, and Service BusExperience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to create and orchestrate data pipelines for moving and transforming data between various data stores.Well-versed in front-end framework.Strong understanding of software architecture patternsProficiency in relational database design and development using SQL ServerDemonstrated ability to create and communicate architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and solution blueprintsFamiliarity with front-end frameworks like Angular and modern JavaScript/TypeScript developmentExperience with API development, including RESTful and GraphQL APIsStrong understanding of security best practices in application development (e.g., authentication, authorization, data protection)Experience working in agile environments and participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferencesExperience with Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric for advanced data engineeringFamiliarity with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDBKnowledge of GraphQL for flexible and efficient API designBackground in B2B or B2C web developmentExperience with front-end SPA frameworks such as AngularFamiliarity with AI integration in applications, including use of GitHub CopilotUnderstanding of observability practices and tools like Application InsightsWorking ConditionsRemote based with travel to Polaris locations based on business need.The pay range for Minnesota is $140,000 to $155,000 per year.
