Job Description: Certified IT Developer (Application)
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”), is committed to ensuring public safety and promoting equal justice for over 1.4 million Bronx residents. To support our mission, we seek experienced and enthusiastic Certified IT Developers (Application).
Job Responsibilities:
1. Plan, design, develop, and implement custom applications to support in-house business processes.
2. Perform hands-on development of web applications and provide technical leadership and guidance as required.
3. Provide production support and maintain existing systems by researching and troubleshooting issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of full-time experience in computer applications development, or a high school diploma and six years of relevant IT experience. Minimum of five years’ experience in .NET software development, web and/or client-server development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current professional/vendor certifications. One of the following:
* A master’s degree in computer science or a related field with 12 months of specialized experience, or
* A bachelor’s degree with 24 months of specialized experience, or
* A high school diploma with 24 months of specialized experience plus 48 months of IT experience, or
* An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specific experience in applications development, web development, system analysis, project management, GIS, testing, technical writing, and version control is required.
Preferred Skills:
* Strong UI design knowledge and understanding of databases (Oracle or MS SQL preferred).
* Experience with C#, .NET frameworks, MVC, Web APIs, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, Python, React JS, Azure, and related technologies.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Design skills for user interfaces.
* Analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
* Ability to work independently and in teams, handling sensitive situations with discretion.
