We have been recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America by Inc. 5000 (2023), a top 1% digital advertiser by Varos (2023), and our founders were named Forbes 30 Under 30 recipients for Marketing and Advertising North America (2024).Note: This role will be opening again in the next two quarters, and we’d love to hear if you’d be interested in joining our talent pool.ResponsibilitiesYou will be editing UGC-style videos in a variety of content formats.Develop and execute thumb-stopping social media video edits, layer audio seamlessly and overlay text that drives key brand messaging.Brainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement, leverage new formats.Stay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practices.Be a creative collaborator: be the voice of the brand and the influencer to create content that is authentic and powerful for all channels.Be comfortable using video editing software, editing audio, and taking editing direction in a fast-paced environment.Provide accessible content including closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratios.Set up projects for edit staff; ingest and log footage; work with edit staff to meet deadlines.Maintain media storage (hard drives, servers, GDrive) and manage all project deliverables and archiving.Support senior staff with editing and administrative needs; version various aspect ratios of completed edits.Maintain all software and assets (Mac OSX, server OS, frame.io, Vimeo, shared assets) and coordinate/edit equipment as needed.Report to the Post-Production Supervisor and Producers; create high-quality video edits spanning various media platforms as requested.Collaborate with the performance marketing team to review ad analytics/performance.QualificationsExperience creating platform-native content (including video content and organic content), especially IG Reels, Meta ads, and TikTok viral video campaigns.Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage deliverables across multiple brands.Strong motion graphics/graphic design/typography skills.Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; FCPX preferred.Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop).Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online).Familiarity working in a networked server environment; strong knowledge of codecs and transcoding practices.Strong communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Proficient with animation/graphic design preferred.Benefits and PerksUnlimited vacation policy and holidays; flexible vacation policy and 10 holidays per year.Remote-first culture with hubs in the Bay Area, New York, Philly, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, and Barcelona.Equity incentives and profit-sharing opportunities.Opportunities for growth through cross-functional collaboration and skill development.Parental leave benefits to support new parents and work-life balance.Equal OpportunityDarkroom is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
