Position Overview

As a Backend Team Lead, you will play a key role in leading the backend development team while contributing to the development and implementation of scalable and robust software solutions that support the company's mission and goals. You will guide and support the backend team while working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain innovative applications and platforms that drive business success and improve patient outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Team Leadership:

Lead and support the backend engineering team, ensuring effective collaboration, task distribution, and delivery of high-quality software.

• Platform Development:

Spearhead the development and optimization of our EHR platform using PHP/Laravel, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Database Development:

Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.

• API Development and Integration:

Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use, facilitating seamless integration with other healthcare systems and third-party services.

• Security Compliance:

Ensure the platform's compliance with healthcare industry standards, including HIPAA, by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and data protection protocols.

Additional Responsibilities

• Mentor backend developers, providing guidance on best practices in backend development, code review, and team collaboration.
• Support the team in resolving technical challenges and ensure consistent development standards across the team.
• Stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate their application to continually innovate and enhance the platform.
• Participate in an agile development environment, contributing to team coordination and iterative delivery processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.

Competencies / Requirements

• Technical Expertise:

Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel and MySQL. Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.

• Experience:

At least 6+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining scalable web applications. Previous experience leading or mentoring developers is required. Experience in the healthcare sector or EHR platforms is highly desirable.

• Problem-Solving Skills:

Ability to tackle complex problems, think analytically, and develop innovative solutions.

• Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
