Who we are looking for:
A passionate Bilingual (English and Portuguese) Public Affairs Officer to champion our interests and navigate the regulatory landscape in Brazil.
Overview:
Be a key player in our Legal department, where you'll build trust and common ground with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders. You'll plan and execute a locally licensed market entry, as well as regulatory relationships within Brazil.
You'll be involved in engaging with government, media, and other stakeholders to shape public perception and policy related to online gaming. This role requires a strong understanding of the Brazilian regulatory landscape, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company's hybrid working-from-home policy, although on-site coverage is required for high-profile, critical work.
This role can be resident in São Paulo or Brasília. You will work both remotely and from our office in Barueri, São Paolo, with the requirement for frequent travel.
What you'll be doing:
* Building and maintaining relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies to advocate for the iGaming industry's interests.
* Overseeing these relationships to respond to enquiries from a wide variety of external bodies, including local partners, regulatory authorities, and government ministers.
* Sports governing bodies, law firms, consultancy firms and other stakeholders.
* Supporting the team with the production of market analysis, reports and presentations for both established and newly emerging jurisdictions.
* Monitoring and analysing proposed legislation and regulations, developing strategies to influence policy decisions, and engaging in public consultations.
* Identifying emerging trends in the iGaming regulation and building action plans responses to these trends.
* Providing context and support for the Company's responses to regulatory inquiries.
Preferred skills and experience:
* Experience within the online betting and gambling industry.
* Experience with Government relations, regulatory bodies and business development.
* Strong understanding of the Brazilian regulatory landscape.
* Strong educational background, with a degree or higher in a business management discipline.
* Advanced English and fluency in Portuguese, both written and spoken.
* Genuine interest in the international business world.
* Highly developed numeracy and analytical skills, with a naturally inquisitive nature.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels.
* Ability to research complex topics quickly and accurately, including legislative, regulatory and compliance matters.
* Confidence working with complex detail and high-level concepts or strategies.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent planning and organising skills.
