Role Overview
The Technical BIM Designer will support Ecotone’s technical drafting and modeling workflows by developing detailed Revit models, coordinating with engineering consultants, and implementing automation tools that improve production efficiency and model quality.
This role requires a strong understanding of construction documentation, engineering coordination, and fabrication-oriented modeling, along with the ability to develop computational workflows using Dynamo.
Candidates should be comfortable working in technically complex BIM environments where models directly support construction execution.
Requirements
Advanced Revit Expertise
Applicants must demonstrate strong professional proficiency in Revit modeling and documentation within architectural or construction environments.
Candidates should have significant experience with:
- Worksharing environments
- Complex family creation
- Advanced schedules and parameter management
- Maintaining model integrity across multidisciplinary teams
Dynamo Automation
Proven experience developing and maintaining Dynamo graphs to automate repetitive modeling and documentation workflows.
Candidates should be comfortable using Dynamo to:
- automate documentation tasks
- streamline modeling workflows
- enforce BIM standards
- reduce manual drafting work
Computational BIM Workflow Experience
Experience implementing data-driven BIM processes using Dynamo or similar tools to manage parameters, enforce standards, and perform automated quality control checks within large Revit models.
Design-Build Project Experience
Experience working in design-build or construction-integrated environments where BIM models directly support construction documentation, coordination, and fabrication.
Candidates should understand how digital models translate into construction outcomes.
Construction Documentation and Technical Detailing
Strong experience producing detailed construction documents in Revit.
Candidates should be comfortable developing:
- wall assemblies
- sections and details
- millwork and specialty architectural systems
- coordination details with engineering systems
MEP and Engineering Coordination
Demonstrated experience coordinating architectural models with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems within multidisciplinary BIM environments.
Candidates should be able to identify and resolve system conflicts directly within the BIM model.
Fabrication-Oriented Modeling
Experience producing highly detailed models that support:
- shop drawing development
- prefabrication workflows
- contractor installation and coordination
Buildability Awareness
Working knowledge of construction sequencing, material tolerances, installation constraints, and contractor workflows.
Models and drawings must reflect real-world construction logic, not conceptual architecture.
Professional Experience Requirement
This role is intended for experienced BIM professionals.
Applicants who are early in their careers, seeking training in Revit fundamentals, or looking for entry-level drafting roles will not be considered.
Bonus Qualifications
Python within Dynamo
Ability to write custom Python scripts inside Dynamo to extend functionality and bypass node limitations.
Revit API Development
Experience developing custom automation tools or add-ins using the Revit API.
