Overview
Junior Procurement Specialist at Hitachi Digital Services. This role reports to the Senior Director of Global Procurement. The sourcing professional will be responsible for the strategic sourcing of services and goods for the Facilities, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, and Finance categories in the Americas, with some projects and categories around the world.
Responsibilities
* As an individual contributor, serves as a trusted business advisor to stakeholders, providing best-in-class technical consulting from a sourcing and external benchmark/industry perspective.
* Manage the development and execution of sourcing projects, reverse auctions, and initiatives ensuring alignment with Hitachi Digital priorities and the specific business function.
* Develop and maintain a best-in-class global preferred supply base for respective area of responsibility.
* Lead sourcing events, reverse auctions; collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, identify suppliers and develop internal recommendations.
* Lead negotiations with suppliers on a variety of contracts to ensure maximum value and minimum risk to Hitachi.
* Manage strategic supplier relationships with cross-functional/cross-business impact covering multiple geographies within the Americas.
* Prepare contracts, partnering with Legal teams and suppliers and route the contract for sign-off; responsible for on-time renewal of contracts.
What You'll Bring
* Entry level role with strong interest in Procurement Sourcing and Category Management.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
* Basic procurement law with correlating ability to author/negotiate/oversee: master service agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, change requests, amendments.
* Experience in one of the following categories, but willing to train: Facilities, Marketing, Human Resources, IT, or Finance.
* Demonstrated track record of leading the sourcing process, working with stakeholders across businesses and geographies.
* Ability to communicate in order to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong business acumen, including strategy, financial and operational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
* Interest in gaining knowledge in negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate large-volume, high-risk deals independently.
* Strong supplier management skills.
* Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), especially Excel.
* Able to pick up an eSourcing tool environment.
* Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
* Able to navigate a fast-paced multinational environment with personnel from many regions and will foster excellent working relationships.
* Must be well organized, confident in navigating stakeholder demands, a self-starter with a willingness to learn and embrace new methodologies, while employing excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
