Security Research Intern
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist our team in various research projects, focusing on cybersecurity and threat analysis. As a security research intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our expert researchers, contribute to the development of new technologies, and learn from real-world experience.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire to learn, excellent analytical skills, and a keen interest in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and threat intelligence. Proficiency in x86/x64 Intel Assembly, WinAPI, and executable file analysis is a plus.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist in research projects, developing processes, defining priorities, following deadlines, delivering material, and sharing with the right teams.
* Analyze malicious functionality in Windows x86/x64, MSIL, mobile threats, and web-related malware.
* Keep current with the latest malware threats affecting customers.
* Communicate with clients regarding adding detections.
* Participate in the development of unit-recommended practices and standards, assuming responsibility for accomplishing group goals.
* Suggest ideas for implementation in company products, prototyping development.
* Create content; analyze and describe malicious programs, threat intel reports, and documentation.
* Present IT security to wide audiences.
* Monitor, analyze, and understand malware trends at local, regional, and global levels.
Requirements:
* Strong desire to learn and share research with teammates.
* Interest in malware analysis and security research.
* Knowledge of x86/x64 Intel Assembly (at least 1 year).
* Basic knowledge of WinAPI.
* Proficiency in using IDA Disassembler, HIEW, OllyDbg, or Windbg to analyze PE files (at least 1 year).
* Executable file analysis skills in a hexadecimal editor.
* Deep knowledge in several fields: mobile device security, statistical analysis, protection against threats, security best practices, polymorphic malware, rootkits/bootkits, non-standard threats, file formats, and malicious code analysis.
* Good knowledge of Linux OS distributions, Linux API/kernel/POSIX standards.
* Excellent knowledge of Windows PE file format.
* Some experience in programming languages (Python, C#, C, C++).
* Fluency in English is Mandatory.
Desirable Skills:
* Hobby experience in security research, blog posts, or personal research.
* Good communication and presentation skills.
* Technical article writing skills.
* Experience in developing tools and documentation for other researchers.
* Understanding of the IT Security industry and business.
* High ethical standards.
