Position Overview

The General Manager oversees all restaurant operations, including guest service, employee engagement, and profitability. Key responsibilities include ensuring consistent execution of guest service standards, food safety protocols, quality control, and adherence to company policies. The role requires strong accountability, leadership, and the ability to mentor the team. During peak hours the General Manager leads the team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences, setting clear goals, establishing timelines, and ensuring performance targets are met.

Job Responsibilities

Team

* Provide training and development opportunities for management and staff; conduct performance reviews per company schedule.
* Recruit, train, and develop restaurant management and staff following training plans and company systems.
* Schedule regular team and manager meetings to communicate company or policy changes.
* Enforce company policies, compliance with laws and local regulations, maintain accurate employee records.
* Immediately report any complaints or employee behavior that violates policy to District Manager and resolve issues promptly.
* Foster a safe, inclusive work environment that does not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or retaliation; report incidents to District Manager and Human Resources.

Guests

* Greet every guest warmly and promptly, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
* Provide an exceptional experience for every guest on every visit, addressing issues with positivity and sound judgment.
* Regularly walk through the restaurant to check on guests, inquire about dining experience, and ensure the interior and exterior are inviting and safe.
* Stay informed about local market trends and community needs to make guest‑centric decisions.

Operations

* Oversee food safety and other safety protocols, ensuring all required postings are visible and properly displayed.
* Implement marketing plans and ensure staff is trained and ready for promotions.
* Use a headset to monitor team interactions with guests, offering praise, coaching, or redirection as needed.
* Address basic equipment maintenance issues as they arise.
* Manage labor costs by creating accurate sales projections, writing balanced schedules, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
* Ensure daily food safety compliance and operational standards are consistently met by the team.
* Communicate with District Manager, Director of Operations, and Restaurant Support Center as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Profitability

* Ensure all food is prepared fresh to order, following company recipes, and accurately record all items in the POS system.
* Oversee all sales transactions within the POS system and ensure proper use of inventory tracking systems.
* Manage controllable expenses, maintaining cost standards while placing inventory orders.
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal support teams.
* Oversee proper use of equipment, small wares, and products; address minor equipment issues promptly and report non‑functional equipment to Operations Support.
* Supervise staff to ensure compliance with all cash handling, banking policies, and procedures.
* Verify that all asset protection systems are in use and functioning properly.
* Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with financial guidelines.


Education And Work Experience

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Serv Safe training & certificate
* Prior experience with a POS System
* 2 years of hands‑on food or retail management experience


Qualifications And Skills

* Authorized to work in the United States
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Can successfully pass a background check, including criminal history and a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
* Ensure compliance with all required training as mandated by local, state, and federal laws and company policies.
* Have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and all state‑required insurances
* Maintain a working cell phone and communicate effectively via text, phone calls, and emails
* Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft 365
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
* Responsible team player, demonstrating punctuality, proper attire, and respect for others
* Experience in a fast‑paced office environment with shifting priorities is a plus
* Hands‑on leadership focused on growth and development of people
* Work with, coach, and develop a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and with varying strengths
* Demonstrate core Cultural Foundations of Energy, Engagement, Empathy, and Execution in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders


Work Environment And Physical Requirements

The work environment is fast‑paced, high‑energy, and dynamic, requiring the ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure. The role involves frequent interaction with customers, creating a welcoming and efficient dining experience. The restaurant environment includes indoor and outdoor areas, with required standing, walking, and moving throughout the shift. Safety and cleanliness are top priorities, with all staff expected to follow health and safety protocols. Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, is required.
