Urban Development Expert

The role of an Urban Development Expert involves leading international consortia to implement projects related to urban and regional development. The expert will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the EIB's framework contract, with a focus on areas such as climate neutrality, sustainable mobility, and smart cities.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing expertise in various sectors, including urban planning, regeneration, and renewal. You will also work on transition to a climate-neutral economy, carbon-neutral cities, land use, and transport integration, among other areas.

Additionally, you will provide guidance on the application of energy efficiency, circular economy, and nature-based solution approaches in the context of urban development. This may include working on projects that promote social and affordable housing, as well as developing finance approaches and instruments for these types of projects.

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 10 years of professional experience in regional and urban development, urban buildings and social infrastructure, economic development, and disaster risk management. A Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is also required.

You will need to demonstrate excellent command of English (CEFR C1) and have experience working with EU, EIB, and WB-financed projects. Specific professional experience in one or more of the following sectors would be beneficial: urban and regional development, urban buildings and social infrastructure, economic development, disaster risk management, and social and affordable housing.

This is a long-term assignment, with a duration of 48 months. You will be based at NTU's office in Aalborg and/or remotely, depending on the project requirements. Only selected candidates will be contacted.
