Urban Development Professionals Sought for Dynamic International Assignments
We are seeking experienced professionals to join our pool of experts for short-term assignments on various international development projects. These positions offer the opportunity to work with leading global organizations, applying expertise in regional and urban development, urban buildings, economic growth, disaster risk management, and social housing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical assessments and provide expert advice on urban development projects.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify and develop sustainable solutions for regional and urban challenges.
• Provide training and capacity-building support to project teams and local authorities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in regional and urban development, urban buildings, economic growth, disaster risk management, or social housing.
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact projects and collaborating with international organizations.
• Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., urban planning, economics, engineering, sociology).
• Excellent command of English (CEFR C1).
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with EU, EIB, WB, or similar organizations.
• Knowledge of urban planning, urban renewal, regeneration, climate neutrality, carbon neutral cities, land use integration, transport integration, transit-oriented development, sustainable mobility plans, smart cities, eco-districts, brownfield regeneration, cultural heritage, climate adaptation, territorial governance mechanisms, just transition plans.
• Familiarity with urban infrastructure, municipal utilities, green buildings, public administration buildings, business infrastructure, education facilities, healthcare facilities, tourism infrastructure, shopping centers, cultural buildings, sport and recreation facilities, parking facilities.
• Experience in economic development, including tourism development, access to finance, employment creation, skills development, industry restructuring.
• Expertise in disaster risk management, including all stages of the DRM-cycle (prevention, preparedness, response, recovery) in relation to natural and man-made disasters.
• Knowledge of social and affordable housing, including projects and programs for construction and renovation, social and affordable housing finance approaches, energy efficiency, circular economy, nature-based solutions.
