Role Description
Holy Koolaid Media is looking for a highly skilled video editor with strong motion graphics experience to help produce fast-paced documentary and explainer videos for YouTube. Our content explores history, archaeology, science, and critical thinking, often examining religion, pseudoscience, and misinformation through a skeptical lens. We are looking for someone who can turn research-heavy scripts into compelling visual stories using animation, motion graphics, archival footage, and creative editing. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable working with complex historical and scientific material. The position is fully remote, with occasional meetings in São Paulo preferred but not required .
What You'll Do
Edit long-form YouTube documentary and explainer videos
Create motion graphics and animations that help explain complex ideas
Cut footage to match script timing and narration
Add B-roll, archival footage, and visual references
Design and animate titles, diagrams, maps, and visual explanations
Add sound effects and polish audio
Work closely with the creator to ensure the visuals enhance the storytelling
Help research and locate visual assets relevant to historical and scientific topics
Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and clarity
Required Skills
Strong experience with Adobe Premiere Pro (this is essential)
Experience with Photoshop
Experience creating motion graphics or animation
Ability to edit according to script timing and narrative pacing
Strong visual storytelling instincts
Extremely detail-oriented
Ability to research and find visual material when needed
At least 2 years of experience with motion graphics or animation
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Preferred Skills
Experience with After Effects
Some familiarity with Adobe Audition
Experience editing YouTube videos
Experience with documentary-style editing
Interest in history, archaeology, or science
Comfortable working on content that critically examines religion, pseudoscience, and misinformation
English proficiency at B1 level or higher (flexible if editing skills are exceptional)
