Strategic Business Development Lead
The primary function of this role is to establish and maintain strong strategic business relationships with key decision makers, M&A advisors, and private equity/venture capital professionals to source current and future acquisition opportunities.
Key responsibilities involve initiating relationships, maintaining them, and ultimately making an acquisition, which can take multiple years. Successful outcomes are driven by measurable objectives, continuous value-add through numerous M&A conversations/relationships, and high-quality market research.
* Develop and manage an acquisition pipeline through CRM software and create market maps to build strong relationships in assigned industry verticals.
* Meet and exceed monthly acquisition targets, such as meaningful contacts and other measurable sourcing KPIs.
* Collaborate both independently and with leadership to qualify opportunities efficiently.
* Evaluate the allocation of lead databases within portfolio verticals.
* Effectively filter opportunities at the top-end of the acquisition funnel to prioritize focus for business unit Portfolio Managers.
This position requires a proactive approach to relationship building, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
