Software Release Manager II Role Overview
The Software Release Manager II plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality software releases. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling software releases in alignment with organizational strategy and goals.
As a key member of the cross-functional team, you will work closely with development, QA, operations, and change management teams to ensure the quality and timeliness of releases. You will monitor and report progress during release windows, identify areas for improvement through testing feedback, and develop reports and metrics to communicate release performance to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, communicate, schedule, and facilitate software releases to meet business objectives.
* Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and change management teams to ensure readiness and quality.
* Monitor and communicate release progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed.
* Facilitate release meetings and maintain release calendars.
* Review testing outcomes and work with QA to address defects and improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes and rollback plans.
* Produce reports and metrics on release performance and communicate findings to leadership.
* Ensure compliance with InComm's release management policies and best practices.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives for release processes.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
* 4+ years of experience in release coordination, change management, or related IT governance roles.
* Familiarity with SDLC processes and testing practices.
* Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar for tracking and documentation.
