Job Title: Video Editor for Direct Response Ads
Description:
We're seeking a skilled video editor to join our team. As an 8-figure direct-to-consumer beauty and wellness brand, we generate $1M+ in monthly revenue through high-volume, high-converting video advertising. Our ideal candidate will understand direct response mechanics and be able to produce scroll-stopping ads at scale.
Your work will directly drive sales across Meta, YouTube, and emerging platforms—with immediate feedback from millions of impressions monthly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Craft hooks that stop thumbs in the first 3 seconds
* Deploy engagement disruptors: kinetic typography, callout graphics, progress bars, emoji reactions
* Optimize pacing for platform algorithms (Meta 9:16, YouTube Shorts)
* A/B test visual approaches based on performance data
Post-Production Excellence:
Color grading, sound design, motion graphics, and seamless transitions using Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve. Your edits should feel polished but authentic—not overproduced.
Rapid Iteration & Testing:
Partner with our Creative Strategist to test new concepts weekly. Expect fast feedback cycles and the need to pivot based on real-time campaign data. Speed + quality = your competitive advantage here.
AI-Enhanced Workflow:
Leverage tools like Descript, Runway, and AI caption generators to maximize output without sacrificing quality. We value efficiency and smart automation.
Requirements:
* Strong level of fluent English fluency
* 2+ years editing for DTC/eCommerce brands (beauty, health, or supplements ideal)
* Portfolio demonstrating direct response ads that drove conversions
* Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve + After Effects
* Deep understanding of Meta/YouTube Shorts specs and algorithm-friendly editing patterns
* Native fluency with UGC aesthetics (raw, authentic, relatable) vs. polished brand content
* Proven ability to produce 8-12 ads per week without compromising quality
* Ability to think critically and recommend new approaches, ad formats, and tools (outside the box)
