Trade Compliance Manager
The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of import/export recordkeeping and managing necessary documentation to ensure entry accuracy. This role requires a high degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Ensure the accuracy of import/export recordkeeping by conducting thorough audits and analyzing data.
* Manage, request, and compile necessary import documentation to ensure entry accuracy.
* Partner with sales and customer services teams on due diligence process, including Know your customer, screening, and vetting.
* Support local entity's participation on FTA (Free trade agreement) under the guidance from Corp. compliance and partner with functional teams on necessary supporting calculation and collection.
* Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate Harmonized Tariff classifications, maintain internal classification databases and ensure accuracy of customs entries.
* Audit Import entry data and manage any Post Entry Amendment requirements with the broker.
* Coordinate audits to ensure import/export policies are followed and identify necessary corrective action plans to continuous improvement.
* Manage the proper reporting of assists as related to Dover trade compliance policy.
* Provide training with the support from corporate compliance team to local entities on different trade compliance topic.
* General compliance support, including VC (screening tool), TPG (3rdparty vetting platform), code of conduct, conflict of interest, training etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field.
* At least 2 years experience in supply chain, traffic, logistics, business or related field.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a positive, team-oriented approach.
* Ability to assess risk and recommend actions and strategies to mitigate regulatory risks.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks to meet deadlines, prioritize, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Experience in tariff classification and country of origin determination.
* Engineering background in HTS Classification is a plus.
* Strong understanding of documentation requirements and Brazil Customs regulations.
* Data analysis and Excel skills proficiency.
* Brazil Customs Brokerage License not required, but highly desirable.
