In Australia, RATP Dev is continuing to grow following the successful Western Sydney Airport Metro bid and is actively pursuing further major rail opportunities across Sydney and Melbourne. We are currently seeking an experienced Communications Systems Manager to join our Melbourne-based Bid Team, supporting the development of competitive, safe, and operationally robust bid submissions for major rail projects. About the Role Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of technical and operational experts, you will be responsible for defining communications strategies, reviewing technical solutions, and ensuring alignment with operational, maintenance, and asset management expectations throughout the bid process. In this role, you will: - Lead the planning, design, and definition of communications systems strategies for major rail bids. - Provide technical expertise across communications systems including radios, telephony, wireless networks, cabling, network devices, and safety-critical communications systems. - Develop and deliver bid specifications, standards, and technical assumptions to ensure a safe, reliable, and compliant bid response. - Define and model maintenance strategies (preventive, corrective, and predictive) for communications assets, aligned with OEM recommendations and operational KPIs. - Review and validate technical documentation and maintenance plans within your scope, including both in-house and outsourced maintenance models. - Prepare robust and accurate cost estimates in line with the overall bid strategy. - Assess requirements for materials, spare parts, specialist tools, and maintenance IT systems to support accurate costing and whole-of-life assumptions. - Coordinate closely with other workstreams including Operations & Maintenance, Signalling, Infrastructure, Rolling Stock, and Project teams. - Manage and guide a small team of technical experts within the bid environment. - Prepare key bid deliverables such as Asset Management Plans and Obsolescence Management Plans. - Liaise with external stakeholders and partners as required throughout the bid process. Profile: About You You are an experienced rail communications professional with a strong understanding of maintenance, asset management, and bid environments. You are comfortable working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams and can balance technical rigour with commercial and operational considerations. You will bring: - Proven experience in railway communications systems and maintenance environments. - Strong capability in reviewing tender documentation and developing technical and costed bid responses. - Experience building and analysing budgets and whole-of-life cost models. - A collaborative and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a bid or joint-venture environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Location: Location Address Victoria, Australia - Would you like to calculate the access time?
