The ideal candidate will have a passion for using data science techniques to solve large-scale business problems.
Additionally, this person will use their knowledge of probability and statistics to make defensible statistical inferences from data.
This is a 1-year contract.Responsibilities:Use data analysis and visualizations (examples include Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, Pandas) to inform the business strategy for cost predictions in a two-sided marketplaceQuery and extract data from databases (Snowflake and MongoDB)Developing hypotheses and conducting statistical analysis to answer business questionsDesign, implement and analyze results from experiments (A/B Tests)Analyze formulaic algorithms for accuracy, provide recommendations, and update production codeRelentlessly iterate solutions within a fast-paced environment where ambiguity is the normWork in an environment that thrives on teamwork and continuous learning opportunitiesQualifications:Bachelor's degree required; degree in applied math, computer science, natural sciences or engineering preferredM.S.
or PhD in a related field highly desired5+ years of experience with pricing algorithms and product led technologyProficient in SQL and Python (numpy, scipy, pandas, and sklearn preferred)Experience interacting with APIs using PythonProficient in applied statistics (distribution of random variables, p-values, confidence interval, standard error, power, type I and II errors)Proficient in statistical tests (t-test, ANOVA, Chi-Square test)Fluent with scientific software principles, e.g.
