The First Cook at Panorama reports to the Chef De Partie and is responsible for all aspects of an individual station.
This position provides leadership and direction to line cooks in the kitchen as they strive for excellence, ensuring that all items prepared are of the highest quality and meet Panorama's standards.
At this level, you are well-versed in many types of cooking, from braising to working the broiler, and are comfortable at all stations in any kitchen in the resort.Essential Functions:Strong skills in hot cooking, sauces, soups, etc.Coordinating final stages of food preparation, ensuring the highest quality of every plate leaving the kitchenAbility to work in all stations of the kitchens of the resort.Leading other cooks by exampleTo constantly push personal skills forwardAssessment of food preparation requirementsBuild strong teams from within and instill a passion for the business among peers.Ensure adherence to both Panorama and provincial health and safety standards, including but not limited to cleaning kitchen areas and safe food storage (food safe certificate)Assist Outlet Chefs in planning menus, food costing and portioning.Conduct inventory counts, monitor food levels and supply needs.Make recommendations regarding food and supply needs, able to place food orders.Come to work happy and motivated.Experience/Requirements:Experience leading others in the kitchen3+ years progressive experience in a high-volume KitchenExperience in working the stations of a multiple outlet operation.Some knowledge of the operation of Catering/ConventionsPanorama Mountain Village, PANORAMA, British Columbia, Canada
