Overview of the role:
The Machine Learning and Data Science Specialist position focuses on serving as the owner of ML algorithms powering campaign segmentation and targeting systems. This role is central to product success, managing massive systems with millions of data points and ensuring models directly impact business outcomes while optimizing, supervising, and evolving ML pipelines to drive innovation and reliability in critical platform components.
Key responsibilities:
- Optimizing existing machine learning algorithms to improve accuracy and performance.
- Proposing, designing, and implementing new ML features that enhance product capabilities.
- Supervising and monitoring machine learning performance at scale.
- Defining ML requirements and collaborating with engineering and product personnel to bring them to life.
- Handling administrative and organizational duties related to ML initiatives.
Requirements:
- ML Experience: 5+ years of comprehensive experience in Machine Learning, including at least 4 years building end-to-end model development lifecycles (requirements definition, feature discovery, model training/registration, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps).
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong knowledge of data and ML frameworks.
- Statistical Foundation: Solid fundamentals in probability and statistics.
- Business Acumen: Business-minded approach with proven stakeholder management skills — able to define work based on conversations with senior leaders.
- Product Mindset: Product-oriented perspective: designing ML pipelines with direct business impact and thriving in ownership-heavy environments.
- Development Practices: Familiarity with development best practices and navigating complex production codebases.
- Education: Postgraduate degree in Machine Learning or Data Science.
Additional skills preferred:
- Databricks Platform: Experience with Databricks environment.
- ML Explainability: Experience implementing machine learning explainability pipelines.
- Orchestration Tools: Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Marketing Applications: Experience applying machine learning to marketing use cases.
