Job Summary: The Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting an organization's network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Perform network cabling, patching, and labeling
Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems
Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades
Ensure network security by following best practices and company policies
Document network configurations, procedures, and changes
Collaborate with IT teams and vendors for issue resolution
Provide technical support to end users when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting
Experience with network troubleshooting tools and techniques
Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
Understanding of network security concepts
Ability to read and understand network diagrams
Good communication and documentation skills
Education & Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of experience in network support or technician role
Certifications (Preferred):
CompTIA Network+
Cisco CCNA or equivalent
