Along with our partner, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Infrastructure Engineer Contractor to collaborate with their close-knit and agile Engineering Team. This individual will work with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to develop innovative, user-friendly, and high-performance web applications.
You are:
* Collaborative and experienced working cross-functionally to gather requirements and align with business goals.
* Comfortable contributing to architecture and design decisions for high-scale systems, with a strong reliability mindset.
* Highly accountable and dependable, with proven success operating in fast-paced remote environments and maintaining consistent availability.
* A strong communicator (written and verbal English), able to provide clear updates, realistic estimates, and early escalation of blockers.
* Detail-oriented and able to write clean, maintainable code and automation scripts.
* Experienced with ACME protocol (HTTP/DNS challenges), certificate automation, and strong networking fundamentals (TCP/HTTP, DNS, load balancers, WAF).
* Execution-driven, able to deliver quickly under pressure, and comfortable using modern tooling including AI-assisted development (Claude Code).
You will:
* Own platform/infrastructure stability through governance, maintenance, remediation, and operational best practices.
* Build and improve platform services that integrate existing web applications and support scalable infrastructure patterns.
* Drive automation across deployments, monitoring, alerting, certificate management, and incident response using Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting.
* Develop prototypes, implement production-ready solutions, and ensure quality through testing.
* Maintain documentation, runbooks, and contribute via architecture/code reviews.
* Support 24/7 monitoring and incident response (on-call as needed), plus limited IT/SaaS onboarding support on a best-effort basis.
Requirements:
* 6+ years of professional development experience.
* Plan, analyze, implement & manage the following aspects of the platform and its associated IT infrastructure.
○ Disaster Recovery Business Continuity (DRBC).
○ Elimination of Single Points of Failure (SPOFs).
○ Implementation of Security procedures, monitors, and awareness organizationally.
○ Automation of monitoring, software deployments via scripting.
○ Instrumentation, monitoring, alerting, and any associated automation and documentation.
* Tech Stack & Skills:
○ Cloudflare.
○ Azure, AWS.
○ Containers.
○ Kubernetes.
○ Terraform.
○ Linux, Windows.
○ VMs, Reserved Instances.
○ IP Stack, WAF, Load Balancers.
○ Clustering, SQL Databases, NoSQL.
○ Infrastructure-as-Code.
○ Microservices, REST API’s.
○ Ruby, Python, Golang.
* Must have strong English communication skills (written + verbal).
* Must have proven experience working remotely with high accountability.
* Must have consistent working availability with 4+ hours overlap with US time zones.
* Must be comfortable using AI productivity tools (Claude Code) as part of daily workflow.
Even better if you:
* Extensive experience in Scripting for the purposes of monitoring, deployments, and other associated IT-related tasks.
* Full CICD methodologies and their associated skills: GIT, GitHub Actions, DevOps, CICD.
