OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and inspiring High School Music & Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Teacher to join our High School faculty. This dual-role position involves teaching high school music courses (performance, theory, composition) and facilitating the IB Theory of Knowledge curriculum. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning, and will foster an inclusive, inquiry-based classroom environment.Responsabilidades e atribuiçõesPlan and deliver high-quality music instruction that includes: Music theory, history, performance, composition, and technologyOpportunities for individual and ensemble performanceIntegration of diverse musical traditions and global perspectivesTeach IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) to High School students: Guide students in exploring the nature of knowledge across disciplinesFacilitate discussions that develop critical thinking, reflection, and academic researchSupport students in completing TOK assessmentsIntegrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learningCreate a supportive and motivating classroom cultureMentor and advise students in academic planning, portfolios, and performancesSupport extracurricular music activities (ensembles, concerts, showcases)Collaborate with colleagues to ensure interdisciplinary learning opportunitiesCreate a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages participation and respects individualityEstablish clear expectations for student behavior and maintain a structured and supportive learning environmentSupport the school community by contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and projectsCollaborate with the High School team, department leads, and performing arts colleaguesPerform other duties as assigned by the High School PrincipalRequisitos e qualificaçõesBachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Music Education, Music Performance, IB Education, or related fieldProficiency in English (oral and written) is mandatory.
